Islamic Republic Role and Chemical Attacks in Syria

Islamic Republic role and Chemical Attacks in SyriaSyrian regime forces fired intense artillery and rocket barrages Wednesday on the eastern suburbs of the capital Damascus, in what two pro-opposition groups claimed was a "poisonous gas" attack that killed dozens of people.
“The Iranian regime’s support for the regime of Bashar-Al-Assad thorough its cruel Quds Force is no secret, though the extent is yet to be known; nonetheless, what is worrisome for the region and the larger international community is the use of deadly chemical weapons in this conflict where Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran’s Quds forces have played and continue to play a crucial role1.  There are intelligence reports that such weapons are used in Syria by Iranian elements to serve Iran’s interest.  First and foremost, continuous focus on Syria takes Iran’s Nuclear file off the radar.  Iran, through the use of such weapons, is testing the international community’s response to such attacks; furthermore, it is sending a signal to adversaries that such attacks will follow suit outside the Syrian borders if Syria, or for that matter, Iran gets attacked.  Last but not least, Iran is further enflaming the war in Syria to prove that any support for anti-tyrannical opposition will further destabilize the region and will heighten the use of deadly chemical and nuclear weapons.
