Daniel is a consultant specialising in emerging markets, defence, counter-terrorism and foreign policy issues, mainly the Commonwealth of Independent States, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
His focus is the politics and economies of oil- and gas-producing regions and nations, from Angola to Uzbekistan. He also writes on related manufacturing sectors, such as the automotive and petrochemicals industries.
A trained journalist with a BA (hons) in Political Science and a MSc in Development Economics from the University of London, he has over 15 years of professional experience including writing for high-profile clients, including the Energy Industries Council and the Japan External Trade Organisation.
