Ardavan Roozbeh


Ardavan Roozbeh, Chief Editor, Radio Koocheh is a photo journalist, social researcher and radio producer, originally born in Iran. Mr. Roozbeh has been the editor in chief and license owner of multiple Persian publications, while established Persian magazine “Monorail” in Malaysia.  Mr. Roozbeh was Senior Producer of human rights programs at Radio Zamaneh, license owner and Editor in Chief of Moroor and Khavaran newspapers, and Editor in Chief of Tatilat, Rooznameh negar, and Nakhoost. Mr. Roozbeh’s academic career involved journalism, multi-media, photography, foreign correspondence, radio production and media management. 

Radio Koocheh is a non-governmental nonprofit independent media including radio broadcast of news and underground music, online and digital print news  sponsored in part by the National Endowment for Democracy.  Koocheh maintains broadcasting inside Iran, across the Middle East and internationally. Radio Koocheh began operations in June 2009 as a nonprofit media platform for free press about Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and countries that host Iranians. The web-based radio began broadcasting in September 2009, and opened a studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 2009, reaching also Iranian audience in both urban and non-urban areas of Iran. The media platform expanded to digital print Koocheh Magazine in Spring 2012. Programming promotes democracy and the achievement of democracy through opportunities for choice, reflecting  community rights, civil rights, organized violence, violence against women and children, and providing education through radio programming. 

Through existing resources, Koocheh Foundation currently produces over 1000 news stories per month, with journalists internationally including inside Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Malaysia, London, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. Koocheh Magazine has a statistical viewership of approximately 1 million readers per month, with extended readership unmeasurable as the magazine is downloaded and distributed freely via social media. To date the greatest statistically number of hits has been 3 million views in one month for their online resources.
